Short-Term Rehab Religious and Spiritual Fulfillment

The mission of Aviv Centers for Living is to enrich the life of each of our residents and program participants, so that each can continue to live his or her life with a sense of meaning and purpose.

Religion serves as a critical anchor for many seniors, providing each one with the gift of a purposeful life. Aviv Centers for Living fully respects and serves the spiritual, cultural and emotional needs of our diverse clientele. Religious services and holiday observances are important events which are planned and celebrated. Family members are invited to attend many of these events, from the weekly Saturday, Jewish Sabbath services to the Christmas Luncheon in December.

All religions are welcome and will find a receptive and warm home for the religious practices and cultural traditions they have practiced all of their lives.

For Our Jewish Clients:
During synagogue services, residents at all levels of physical and cognitive ability are encouraged to participate in the customary rituals. In addition to religious observances, a great deal of attention is given to cultural programming. Area rabbis visit to hold discussions with residents about Jewish topics, and residents enjoy outings to places with a Jewish orientation.

For Residents of Other Faiths
Visiting chaplains attend to the spiritual needs of our non-Jewish residents. Christmas, Easter and holiday events are observed with special parties and entertainment. Communion may be arranged, and non-denominational services are conducted monthly. The staff works closely with residents to assure that their spiritual needs are being met.
