Lillian Lipsky recently turned 96 years old and thanks to Aviv HomeCare, her family is celebrating her robust life. However, just last February her daughter, Arlene Dacey, was growing more and more concerned about her well-being. Although Lillian enjoyed her days at the Shapiro-Rudolph Adult Day Center, when she returned to her apartment she grew increasingly anxious.

When Lillian began to call Arlene in the middle of the night and her weight dipped to an alarming 99 pounds, Arlene knew that she needed help and immediately called Aviv Centers for Living. That’s when AvivHomeCare  sent Margaret who Arlene refers to as ‘our miracle.’ Margaret helps Lillian with her daily life assisting with meal preparation, laundry, cleaning, medicine management while being a constant companion and support.

“Margaret is a very dedicated  and trusting person and only wants to give her attention to her client.  She is extremely attentive, affectionate and caring. She works very hard and sends money home to Uganda to support her family and has to also support herself,” says Arlene who reports that her mother is up to 117 pounds and is very content.

“I never have to worry anymore. I am so much more relaxed,” notes Arlene. “When AvivHomeCare sent Margaret, it was truly a blessing from heaven.” Arlene recently wrote a letter to Aviv in which she noted that Margaret is truly part of her family and that they love her. “My mother is still gaining weight, her skin and coloring is radiant. She looks happy, healthy and beautiful. Thank you Aviv for Margaret. You do make a difference!” says Arlene.
